The Texas Physical Fitness Assessment Initiative (PFIA) is a program designed to gather physical fitness data of Texas students for analysis in order to determine if there is any correlation between student academic achievement, attendance, obesity, disciplinary problems and school meal programs.  Each year, physical fitness instructors will collect various fitness measurements of students and record and submit that information to the state.  Parents will receive a copy of their student's assessment in the late Spring.
