Hughes Springs ISD Anonymous Reporting

 

Hughes Springs ISD is dedicated to a safe learning environment for our students and staff.  At times it is necessary to report issues in a manner that protects the reporter's identity.  HSISD offers the reporting form below for students, staff, and community members to report events that may affect the learning environment.

 

 

The safety and security of our students and employees is our highest priority at Hughes Springs ISD.  Students, parents, staff and community members can now anonymously report safety concerns directly to school officials through Anonymous Reporting Form.  This will allow users to anonymously submit suspicious activity, safety threats, bullying, drug abuse, depression, harassment, or any other safety concerns.

Every submission goes directly to a member of the trained threat assessment team. That team member will review the submission, and if necessary share the information with the threat assessment team for a formal evaluation.

You can help save lives by reporting observed threats, behaviors, actions, and harassment. Here are examples of some of the most common behaviors and incidents to report:

 

  • Acts of violence, with or without weapons
  • Threats seen on social media
  • Bullying, fighting, harassment or intimidating behaviors
  • Bragging about weapons or a planned attack
  • Depression, anxiety or loss of self-control
  • Hopelessness, excessive guilt or worthlessness
  • Reckless behavior, theft and petty crimes
  • Social isolation or withdrawal
  • Substance or alcohol abuse
  • Suicide threats, cutting or other self-harm

Reporting bullying or harassing behavior is the first step toward making our schools a safe place for everyone. Please report bullying if you are experiencing it, or witness it in school, on the bus, at school events, or online.

 

“Bullying" means engaging in written or verbal expression, expression through electronic means, or physical conduct that occurs on school property, at a school-sponsored or school-related activity, or in a vehicle operated by the District and that:

1.   Has the effect or will have the effect of physically harming a student, damaging a student’s property, or placing a student in reasonable fear of harm to the student’s person or of damage to the student’s property; or

2.  Is sufficiently severe, persistent, and pervasive enough that the action or threat creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment for a student.

This conduct is considered bullying if it:

3.   Exploits an imbalance of power between the student perpetrator and the student victim through written or verbal expression or physical conduct; and

4.   Interferes with a student’s education or substantially disrupts the operation of a school.
